A Conversation about the Revolution of Branding, Storytelling and Technology

HD EXPO (hdexpo.net) has announced "A Conversation About Revolution and What’s Next: Telling Stories, Branding and Community In A State of Change," featuring a panel of innovators and well known experts. The Conversation will feature Ken Yagoda, Steve Wax, Steve Coulson and John Dukakis, all estimable experts involved in work that is changing advertising and storytelling. The Conversation will take place during HD EXPO on September 25th, 2008 in Manhattan.

The Conversation is designed as an interactive discussion with the audience and four experts, who will explore the technological and social revolution that has taken root over the past decade. Democratized tools for creativity and connection, the growth of social media, the advent of sophisticated metrics, the power of community, the rise of online and mobile content and the wavering of broadcast are creating a volatile and exciting new landscape with different content, different rules about its sanctity, and different ways of viewing. Ken Yagoda, Vice President & Executive Producer, has played an important role in the transition to HD and is currently at work at Time Inc. Studios (http://www.timeinc.com/home/ ), where he has produced/directed many projects for Time Inc. brands, such as People, Essence, Time Inc. Corporate, as well as a This Old House specials for PBS; Steve Wax, is the Managing Partner of Campfire NYC (http://campfirenyc.com/ ), a brand entertainment agency centered on interactive storytelling. Campfire has recently been at work on a campaign for HBO’s “True Blood;” and John Dukakis is the Director of Branded Entertainment for Hill Holliday in Boston. Formerly, Dukakis was the Executive VP for Overbrook, the multimedia company and management company owned and operated by Will Smith. Steve Coulson is a founder of The Advance Guard, (http://theadvanceguard.com/ ), which focuses on creating radical marketing programs using social media and emerging technologies.

HD EXPO launches the New York event after seven successful years in Los Angeles and Chicago. Other panels taking place on that day include "The Art of Editing in the 21st Century: Creativity + Technology," co-sponsored by American Cinema Editors and Manhattan Edit Workshop, "Creating High Powered Sports Programming: Wowing the Audience," as well as Intensive education sessions, a full tradeshow and workshops. Registration is free until September 23rd.
