Toronto International Film Festival Volunteer Opportunities

Get Involved And Have A Blast Volunteering For TIFF 08

The Toronto International Film Festival is recruiting volunteers to help with a variety of duties at this year's Festival, which runs September 4 through 13, 2008. Last year, a committed team of over 1,800 volunteers generously contributed their time and energy to the Toronto International Film Festival. Hailing from Toronto, across Canada and around the world, Festival volunteers are brought together by an appreciation of cinema. Volunteer recruitment sessions for the 2008 Festival begin in July. For further information on recruitment dates, locations and how to get involved, please visit tiff08.ca/getinvolved or call the Toronto International Film Festival Group Volunteer Hotline at 416-591-5411. The official website for the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, tiff08.ca, is now live. Ticket packages for TIFF08 will be available for purchase by Visa† cardholders as of 10am on Monday July 7, 2008, and by cash, debit or Visa as of 10am on Monday, July 14, 2008. Purchase online at tiff08.ca, by phone at 416-968-FILM or 1-877-968-FILM or in person at the Festival Box Office at Manulife Centre, 55 Bloor Street West (main floor, north entrance). Festival Box Office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

All recruitment sessions will be held at Roy Thomson Hall located at 60 Simcoe Street (please use the Artists' entrance). Interested participants, both new and returning, are required to attend a mandatory recruitment session on one of the following dates:

• Thursday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, July 16 at 6:30 p.m.
• Sunday, July 20 at 1 p.m.
• Wednesday, August 6 at 6:30 p.m.
• Saturday, August 9 at 12 p.m.

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Recruitment sessions allow volunteers to investigate the range of opportunities available during the Festival and to meet with Festival staff. With a wide variety of volunteer shifts available, volunteers have the option to sign up for customer service positions in our busy theatre venues, or work alongside staff in the Festival's administrative departments. New volunteers must bring a resumé with contact information for three references (either work, volunteer or character) in order to sign up. Volunteers should arrive promptly, know their availability and be able to commit to at least four shifts. Additional information regarding volunteering is available on our website at tiff08.ca/getinvolved
